Active Leisure Tents Sold at Costco Recalled For Fire Hazard

About 19,000 <"http://www.yourlawyer.com/practice_areas/product_liability">Active Leisure Folding Canopy Tents have been recalled for fire hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced.

Active Leisure Inc., of Yinzhou, Ningbo, China, manufactured the recalled Active Leisure Folding Canopy Tents.

The recalled tents do not meet the flammability label claim on the unit, posing a fire hazard to consumers. To date, no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection to this defective product.

This product recall includes Active Leisure 10-foot by 10-foot folding canopy tents. Item number 544803 is printed on the original packaging near the bar code. The tents have a metal frame covered in white fabric.

The defective tents were sold exclusively at Costco stores, nationwide, from January 2011 through February 2011 for about $190.

The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately stop using the recalled canopy tents and return them to any Costco store for a full refund. The CPSC also notes that it is illegal to resell or to attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
