But I'm sorry to say my mother was killed by Sun Healthcare Group's nursing home in Newport Beach, Calif when they neglected to repair equipment I forewarned them about six months earlier. I have even have a letter written to me by their risk manager and board member Dr Chauncey Hunker, stating it was ok with him to live in the facility without an operable HVAC system to patient rooms. That lack of ventilation exasperated her pneumonia and the superbug MRSA she contracted from them and eventually killed her. Not before she lost her ability to swallow when their known broken blood pressure equipment was used and they missed her medications casuing her to stroke. She suffered for nine months before her death, unable to swallow, lacking nutrition, constantly confusing, wasting away. She lived in an acute care hospital those final eight months. Sun cheated me out of wrongful death damages, elder abuse, pain & suffering, intentional infliction of emotional distress and their board of directors has just been informed in the past 60 days that this happened in 2006. God help those sleep at night who make choices that kill the helpless old vulnerable Americans in this country. They can't grow a conscience.
