The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and three different companies have announced the voluntary recall of similar baby walkers because the walkers can fit through a standard doorway and are not designed to stop at the edge of a step. Babies using these walkers can be seriously injured or killed. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately.

The three companies and the recalled walkers are as follows:

Ace Han Corp., of Jamesburg, New Jersey, is recalling about 1,000 Baby Walkers. The walkers were manufactured in China and sold at independent retail stores in New York and Philadelphia from April 2004 through October 2006 for about $20 to $30.

To date, there have been no injuries or incidents reported.

The recalled walkers have eight wheels and an activity tray with interactive toys. The walkers are blue and pink with various designs on the cloth seat. “Imported by Ace Han Corp” is printed on labels located on the base of the walkers.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled walkers and return them to the retailer where purchased for a full refund.

SunTome Trading Corp., of Los Angeles, California, is re-announcing its prior recall of July 20, 2001 of some 600 Baby Walkers manufactured n China.

The recalled walkers have eight wheels and are sold in various colors including dark blue, pink and white, or pink and red. The activity trays on the baby walkers have a steering wheel, various rattles and a mirror or animal themes. The trays play music when the baby pushes a button. “Baby” is printed on a sticker on the tray or the walker’s base.

The walkers were sold at retail toy stores nationwide from March 2001 through January 2006 for about $20.

Consumers should stop using the recalled walkers immediately and return the walkers to the retailer where purchased for a full refund.

Bike Pro Inc., of Pico Rivera, California, is re-announcing its prior recall of October 9, 2002 of some 50,000 Baby Walkers manufactured in China.

The recalled walkers are intended for babies 6 months and older. The walkers are blue, green, pink and yellow. They have musical activity trays with various toys and themes including rockets and a tank with an army print cloth seat, lights and a steering wheel with a teddy bear cloth seat, and a monkey’s face with a teddy bear seat cloth. “Baby” and “BEBELOVE” are printed on labels on some of the walkers.

The walkers were sold at independent discount stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Missouri, and New York sold these baby walkers from January 2000 through January 2006 for between $18 and $22.

Consumers should stop using these walkers immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.
