About 100 <"http://www.yourlawyer.com/practice_areas/product_liability">Eastside Fix Bicycle Forks, distributed by Campus Cruisers LLC, of Boulder, Colorado have been recalled, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced.
The bicycleâ€™s front fork can crack or break, causing a sudden loss of steering control and posing a fall hazard to bicyclists. To date, the firm has received four reports of lateral cracks beneath the front forkâ€™s crown. No injuries have been reported.
This recall involves Campus Cruisersâ€™ Eastside Fix model bicycles. The single speed bicycle has an aluminum frame and fork. The bicycles were sold in royal blue with a white leather seat and white gel grips on the handlebars.
The recalled Eastside Fix Bicycle Forks were manufactured in China and sold at independent bicycle dealers nationwide from March 2010 through May 2010 for about $450.
The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately stop riding bicycles with the recalled front forks and to contact their local Campus Cruisers dealer to schedule a free repair. Consumers who are not near an authorized dealer should contact Campus Cruisers for assistance.
