FDA APPROVES FIRST HOME ACNE TREATMENT DEVICE

The FDA has approved the first handheld, portable electronic medical device that is clinically proven to make acne blemishes disappear or fade quickly. In an FDA-reviewed, clinical trial, 90% of the blemishes treated with the device known as Zeno disappeared or faded within 24 hours. Zeno does not require a prescription.

The device uses a medical heat dose treatment on individual acne blemishes. It is designed for people with mild to moderate acne and is best suited for newly emerging blemishes. Multiple treatments of 2 Ω minutes are recommended. The process destroys bacteria and significantly shortens the pimpleís life cycle. It may also increase blood flow to the area thereby promoting faster healing.

Zeno is not intended to replace normal skin care programs and is compatible with other prescription and over-the-counter acne treatments. Those using the device have been amazed at its effectiveness. It is also a way to avoid the potential side-effects associated with many acne drugs. It is seen as being convenient and effective for college students away from home, image conscious adolescents, women who suffer from monthly acne flare-ups, and last minute blemishes that occur at inopportune times.
