Glass Vases Recalled

A large recall of <"">20-inch Glass Vases has been implemented, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada (HC) just announced. The agencies are advising consumers to stop using recalled products immediately and note that it is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

About 203,000 20-inch Glass Vases were recalled in the US and 9,000 were recalled in Canada by the Gerson Company of Olathe, Kansas.

The Glass Vases can break or fracture, posing a laceration hazard to consumers. To date, the firm has received nine reports of the vase shattering, including nine reports of lacerations to the hands.

The recalled Glass Vases are made of clear glass and stand about four inches wide by 20 inches tall. The SKU# 405334 and UPC: 0-37916-88960-3 are printed on a label on the bottom of the vase.
The recalled Glass Vases, which were manufactured in China, were sold at Michael’s stores nationwide and in Canada from July 2006 through March 2010 for about $15.

The CPSC is advising consumers to stop using the recalled Glass Vase and discard it immediately. Gerson can be reached toll-free at (877) 461-6298 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday for a refund. The firm can also be reached at its website at or by email at
