announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recalls were implemented due to chocking and fall and entrapment hazards.

HealthTex Zoo Pacifiers
About 40,000 Healthtex Zoo Pacifiers have been recalled by importer HealthTex of Miami, Florida, due to choking hazard. The CPSC explained that the Healthtex Zoo Pacifiers failed to meet federal safety standards. The nipples can separate from the base easily, posing a choking hazard to young children. The recall involves Zoo pacifiers with animal cartoon figures as handles. The pacifier has a round-shaped mouth guard with three ventilation holes. The words “Made in Spain” are printed on the handle side of the mouth guard and the words “Mi Tosoro” are printed on the cardboard packaging. The recalled Healthtex Zoo Pacifiers were made in Spain and sold at supermarkets and pharmacy stores nationwide from December 2002 through March 2009 for about $1.40.

The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately take the recalled pacifiers away from children and contact Healthtex for a refund or exchange. Healthtex can be reached toll-free at (866) 348-5080 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.

Simplicity Travel Tender Play Yards
About 25,000 Simplicity Travel Tender Play Yards have been recalled by importer Simplicity, Inc. and SFCA, Inc., of Reading, Pennsylvania. The CPSC notes that the firms appear to no longer conduct day-to-day operations. The recall was implemented because one or more rails on the Simplicity Travel Tender Play Yards can collapse unexpectedly, posing a fall or entrapment hazard to young children. The CPSC is aware of at least five reports of one or more rails collapsing

The recalled play yards are portable and were sold with a bassinet, a changing table, and mobile features; the play yards bear the “Simplicity” logo. The recalled Simplicity Travel Tender Play Yards model numbers are: 5500DRM, 5500WDS, 5500FEL, 5501FEL, 5502MON, 5520PRO, 5550HAN, 5700MAN, and 5750MIR and can be found on a sticker on one of the legs underneath the play yard. The recalled Simplicity Travel Tender Play Yards were made in China and sold at Burlington Coat Factory stores nationwide and online at Babiesrus.com, Target.com, and Kohls.com from March 2005 through January 2009 for about $100.

The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately stop using the recalled play yards and return them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement product. For additional information, contact the following retailers:
