Woman’s Pea Coats Sold at Bass Pro Shops Recalled

Foria International is recalling about 800 of its <"http://www.yourlawyer.com/practice_areas/product_liability">Women’s Pea Coats due to violation of the federal flammability standard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recalled Foria Women’s Pea Coats were manufactured in China, a country long associated with dangerous, sometimes deadly, consumer and children’s products, human and pet food, and medications. Foria International Inc., of City of Industry, California, imported the Pea Coats.

Although no incidents or injuries have been reported, to date, the Foria Women’s Pea Coats fail to meet the federal flammability standard for wearing apparel and pose a risk of burn injury.

This recall involves Women’s Pea Coats that are double-breasted and have long sleeves. They are made from 100 percent cotton fleece in large blue and white plaid print. “Authentic” is printed on the label at the center back neckline of the garments.

The recalled Foria Women’s Pea Coats were sold at Bass Pro Shops nationwide from October 2009 through January 2010 for about $60.

The CPSC is advising consumers to stop using the recalled coats immediately and return them to Foria International for a full refund of the retail price, including shipping. Foria International’s address is 18689 Arenth Avenue, City of Industry, CA 91748. Foria International can also be reached toll free at (888) 999-6568 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, or at the firm’s Web site at www.foria.com
